Plasma Science at DEOS

Plasma discharges are globally neutral mixtures of free moving electrons, ions, and neutrals. During the de-excitation of the plasma particles, a light emission characteristic of the gas used occurs. At ISAE-SUPAERO, one of the teams of the electronics, optronics, and signal department (DEOS) is interested in different interactions between certain types of plasma, called cold plasma, and electromagnetic waves. These studies aim to develop new prototypes of plasma-based microwave components such as antennas.
