Conference on Space Radiation Effects in Electronics

On September 26th, 2019, the "ISAE-SUPAERO IEEE Student Branch" association, supported by the ISAE-SUPAERO Foundation, the IEEE NPSS chapter, the IEEE French Section, organized a conference on "Introduction to Space Radiation Effects in Electronics" held by Dr. Allan Johnston from NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, USA.

Allan Johnston is a Principal Engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a federally funded research center that is managed by the California Institute of Technology for NASA. He has more than thirty years of experience in radiation effects, and has participated in the design of several space craft, including the Cassini mission to Saturn, and several Mars exploration programs at JPL. He has published more than 100 technical papers, and is a Fellow of the IEEE.

Before the talk, the interventions of Alexandre Le Roch and Federico Pace introduced to the public the Student Branch as well as its partners. Finally, the technical talk gave rise to lots of questions among the students as well as external auditors, creating an interesting dialogue. The conference continued with a buffet to further discuss the topics raised during the event.
